An Exciting Fall In Somersworth
We have some exciting things happening in the Fall this year.
Here’s a run down of the highlights that you can expect this Fall in the City of Somersworth.
Indonesian Fair 2018
The first of which occurs on Saturday September 8th when the sixth annual Indonesian Fair. This year as last the festival will take place at Memorial Drive and will include some wonderful food, culture and general shenanigans.
The Indonesian population in Somersworth is the largest outside of Manhattan and I for one think that is something worth celebrating. Having attended many of the past Indonesian Fairs, I can tell you that they are well worth the time. The food is excellent and if you are like me and am not a lover of spicy food you will find something to suit your tastes. There will also be plenty of dancing, music and culture involved in the afternoon’s events. This is a family friendly event and a great chance to meet some of your Indonesian neighbors and learn about their culture.
This years event will feature music, tradition foods and a chance to win a plane ticket to Indonesia amongst other attractions.

The Summersworth Historical Society and Museum invite you to join them and take a stroll back into history. During you stroll around Somersworth’s historical Forest Glade Cemetery you will meet many faces from the past. They have risen for just one day and are more than happy to talk about their lives as you are guided around the cemetery.
Talking Tombstones takes place on Saturday 29th September with a rain date of Sunday 30th September. The tours start every fifteen minutes between 10am and 3pm and cost just $10. Reservations are not required and parking will be at the Maplewood School parking lot.
This promises to be a fun and informative trek through history and no reservations are required. For more information please click HERE.
16th Annual Somersworth Pumpkin Festival
Next up for Fall will be the 16th Annual Pumpkin Festival. This event is hosted by the Somersworth Festival Association and is always a smashing time.
The festival takes place on Saturday October 13th this year at the Somersworth Plaza located on Main Street. The festival runs between 10am and 4pm.
For the sum of just $12 you can take part in all kinds of family fun and games. These include smashing pumpkins, building a scarecrow and pumpkin painting to name but a few of the afternoons activities.
This event is a great way to start the Fall season and I hope that I will see you there. Please note that if you show up in costume to the event you will receive $1 off the price of your bracelet. A great way to enjoy the season and extend the life of your Halloween costumes.
